A quick call to ask a few key questions (such as the ones listed below) will eliminate any unacceptable choices right away.  Then you're ready to go on to the next step and set up times to visit and interview this now shorter list of caregivers.

• Is there any space available?  For what ages?  Is there a waiting list?  How soon would space be available?
• Is the program licenced?  What is the cost?  If needed, is there subsidy? Do I get receipts?
• How many children are in your care?  How many are full-time and part-time? How many children maximum are in care at any given time? What are their ages?
• Ask about any major concerns you have related to your specific needs. Special diet?  Hours that care is available?
