At this interactive team building session we will explore ideas and suggestions for a successful team. We will pursue topics such as communication styles, self confidence and self esteem. Once a month, owners, operators, Regional and Ministry Staff come together to

• Liaise and advocate on behalf of SPRING service providers with Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Ministry of Social Services, Region of Peel, community groups, networks and professional organizations regarding supports to service providers
• Gather and share general resources that support best practices
• Recommend suggestions for services
• Identify gaps in professional resources and gather and share materials
• Promote the professional resource centre

Advanced Circle Time Skills
Workshop: Many teachers are often frustrated with singing the same three songs with children every
day.  This is the time for children to actively participate with adults in a communal setting.  It gives
children a repertoire of common experiences, builds a sense of community, encourages group
membership and leadership, as well as, provides children with group problem-solving experiences. Your
participation in this workshop will provide you with an understanding of what circle time is, why it is
important, where children gather, and what children do at this time.

Child Care First Aid & CPR

Workshop: A child specific program, which includes CPR certification. This course focuses on specific emergency medical situations involving children and different approaches to their treatment. Segments include discussions on head injuries, severe allergic reactions and use of the epi-pen, asthma attacks, bleeding, choking, seizures and when to call 911.
